2016 has seen a number of new events for OGs. These have included year group reunion dinners, undergraduate drinks, our annual London dinner at Langan’s Brassiere and a Leavers Yearbook collection. See the News page and Photo Galleries to find out more.

2017 will see the continuation of these successful events and the addition of yet more social and sporting gatherings to the OG calendar. If you have an idea for an event, let us know.

2016 Leavers v RGS 1st XI Football Match - 12.00pm, Saturday 25 March, Bradstone Brook. POSTPONED


OGs v RGS 1st XI Hockey Match - 4.30pm, Friday 21 April, Broadwater School. 

OG Consultation & Reception - 7.00pm, Tuesday 25 April, Big School, Old Building. Hosted by the Headmaster, an evening for OGs with OG relations to explore how they can help widen access for future generations of RGS boys.

Supporters Summer Reception - 6.30pm, Tuesday 6 June, Big School, Old Building. By invitation.

Class of 1987 Reunion - 11.00am, Saturday 10 June, RGS. A coffee reception in the foyer of the New Building will be followed by a tour of the School and a pub lunch in Guildford.

A 'Golden' Garden Party – 2.00-5.00pm, Saturday 10 June.  A garden party for OGs who left over 50 years ago. Pimms, cream tea and music, partners welcome.

Beckingham Society Lunch for RGS Legacy Supporters - 12.00pm, Thursday 15 June, Chained Library, RGS. The Beckingham Legacy Society meets for lunch with the Headmaster for a review of the year and a look at future plans. By invitation.

London Dinner for OGs*- 6.00pm, Wednesday 21 June, Langan’s Brasserie. Following the 2016 sell-out dinner, the London Dinner for OGs will be held once more at Langan’s Brasserie, Mayfair. Tickets £47.50. Early booking recommended. 

Piano Concert by Michael Lan, OG 2015 - 29 June, 7.30pm, Rehearsal Room. Michael Lan, OG 2015 and student at Guildhall School of Music, is returning to RGS to give a piano recital to include pieces by Beethoven and Schubert.

Headmaster’s XI v OG XI Cricket Match** - 11.00am, Sunday 2 July, Bradstone Brook. Come to Bradstone Brook for the Headmaster’s Cricket Match, a curtain raiser to the RGS Cricket Festival which RGS Guildford are hosting this year from 3 to 7 July.


Class of 2017 Year Book Collection - 6.00pm, Friday 8 September, Old Building. A new tradition for recent leavers. Collect your Year Book and catch up with friends and staff over a beer.

RGS Musical: West Side Story* - Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 March, Guildford High School. A joint performance with GHS. Sold out.

RGS Concerto Concert with Southern Pro Musica* - 7.30pm, Wednesday 3 May, Holy Trinity. Tickets available on the door: adults £12, children free. RGS Musician of the Year finalists, Joe Bate (marimba), Alistair Baumann (cello) and Callum Champion (piano) accompanied by a professional orchestra. 

"Life After RGS" Reception for U6 Parents - 7.00pm, Wednesday 10 May, Big School, Old Building.

Dido and Aeneas, Opera by Henry Purcell* - 8.00pm, 23 & 24 June, Old Building Courtyard. Opera performed by RGS musicians.

RGS Bands for Charity Concert* - 7.30pm, 28 June, Auditorium. Featuring Big Band, Concert Band and a number of smaller ensembles. 

Art School Private View & Reception for RGS Supporters -  6.00pm, 3 July, Art School. The Art School Private View includes a wonderful display of A level, AS level and GCSE work.

RGS Cricket Festival - 3 to 7 July. The annual Cricket Festival of the six English Royal Grammar Schools will be hosted this year by RGS Guildford at Bradstone Brook.

Events open to all, unless otherwise stated. Market Day Concerts featuring RGS soloists will be held on 2 May, 6 June, 4 July at Holy Trinity.  All concerts will commence at 1.15pm and are free of charge. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.
