The School adopts a policy of electronic communication, wherever possible, to ensure efficient, effective and ecological correspondence both internally and externally.
Regular communication with parents is provided through the website, Twitter (@RGSGuildford), the weekly electronic correspondence, the annual school magazine (The Guildfordian), the annual review (The Review), the fortnightly newsletter (The Bulletin) and the termly review (The Register).
The School uses a system of electronic communication whereby all parental correspondence is delivered electronically via email. Every Tuesday, all parents are emailed with correspondence relevant to them or their son's year group. In exceptional circumstances and if the need arises, an email will be sent on another day of the week. All correspondence for all year groups is also posted each week in the Current Parents area of the RGS website.
In addition, the School uses a system called ClarionCall through which text messages can be sent to individual mobile phones, voice messages can be recorded or emails sent direct to individuals. ClarionCall has proved to be very useful tool when there are significant changes to the normal school day but, more importantly, an invaluable and efficient method of contacting parents quickly if the need arises.
If a parent needs to communicate with the School, the first point of contact should be the boy’s tutor. When emailing a tutor please use their first initial and surname followed by the suffix @rgs-guildford.co.uk, for example email@example.com. For general enquiries, the School Office can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
